Shirleigh is an incredibly intelligent and highly reserved person. Her mind is constantly on the run and when it isn't, you'll know. Holmes uses her intelligence to solve the crimes of London's citizens when the "newly reformed" police force fails them.
Because of her personality, Holmes has difficulty maintaining relationships, as if she wanted any in the first place. However, when a Dr. Watson shows up at her flat as a potential new roommate, the bond they form ends up slowly breaking down Holmes' hard exterior.
Shirleigh! The main gal!
I remember when I was working on her design, I wanted something that kept the usual distinctive features of her namesake and I really wanted her to be a strong female.
I believe in the original concept sketches (of which there weren't that many) Shirleigh appeared much more feminine and girly. I'm in love with her more stoic look and think it matches her character a lot better. I constantly find myself gushing over how cool she is. I don't quite know what that says about me but it is what it is. I love her.
